“…We would like to thank the authors of the letter to the editor "Pneumoperitoneum should be investigated" for their interest in our recent publication on gastric pneumatosis. 1,2 It is clear that we still have an incomplete and poor understanding of the underlying pathology and relevance of gastric pneumatosis. We are pleased to have raised awareness and stimulated discussion among our colleagues in the field, hopefully moving knowledge forward to improve diagnosis and patient outcomes.…”
