An unusual case of rudimentary parotid gland with distended Stensen duct

“…In cases of rudimentary parotid gland as in our case, the saliva is produced but the quality and quantity are compromised. A number of case reports of patulous Stensen's duct have been recorded in the past (13)(14)(15). In these cases, air insuffulates into the parotid gland due to increased intraoral pressure and results in recurrent parotid swelling.…”
