Platelet parameters and expression of platelet membrane glycoprotein in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Platelet activation and functional changes were investigated in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) to provide the basis for early diagnosis and evaluation of curative effect. Platelet parameters, immature platelet fraction (IPF%), immature platelet count (IPC), P-selectin (CD62p) (PAC-1) expression were detected in ALL, ALL-complete remission-induced (CR1), and normal groups with an automatic blood cell analyzer and flow cytometer. CD62p and PAC-1 were higher in the ALL group before adenosine-5-dipho… Show more

“…Subsequently, 1% paraformaldehyde was added (2–8°C, 1 ml) into each tube, mixed completely, and placed at 2–8°C in the dark for 30 min. Using FCM, signal for 10,000 platelets was acquired, and the positive expression rate of CD62p, PAC-1 and CD42b was calculated ( 19 ).…”

“…Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a neoplastic disease originating from B- or T-lymphocytes ( 1 2 ), and accounts for 80% of childhood acute leukemia (AL) and is the most common type of cancer affecting children ( 3 , 4 ). The incidence rate of ALL is 5-fold higher than that of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) ( 3 ).…”

“…PDW above 18% was described as increasing the risk of mortality [Guclu et al, 2013]. There are also studies reporting low PDW values [Liang et al, 2014;Huang et al, 2015]. PDW was significantly lower in the patient group compared to the control group on Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia cases [Liang et al, 2014].…”
