Plasmonic behavior of ionic liquid stabilized gold nanoparticles in molecular solvents

Abstract: In this paper, we have demonstrated the facile synthesis of stable gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using imidazolium ionic liquids (ImILs) as a stabilizer as well as a surfactant and their surface plasmon resonance (SPR) in different molecular solvents with varying dielectric properties.

“…330 min) under similar conditions. The possible reason was that IL served as bromine source and stabilizer simultaneously and thus restrain from the recombination of electrons and holes, promoting the photocatalytic activity . It is well known that the photo‐Fenton method, combined with Fenton's reagent and UV or visible light, is a common method for imidacloprid removal in water .…”

“…15,16 AuNPs stabilized with ionic liquids were synthesized and were observed to show excellent stability. 17 The interaction of the NPs with ionic liquids is occurs through the imidazolium ring, while the alkyl chain remains away from NP surface. 17 The reduction of 4-nitrophenol is a very simple reaction for the analysis of reaction kinetics and improvement of catalytic activity.…”

[18][19][20][21] Moreover, this reaction is a well-known model reaction for determining the activity of a catalyst because of the convenience of analyzing the progress of the reaction and the absence of by-products.…”
