Abstract:Plasmaphersis is a method of treating a variety of diseases of frequently uncertain etiology and poorly understood pathogenesis for which there is no adequate therapy. It is a procedure in which plasma is separated from the blood cells and is replaced with fresh frozen plasma, or a plasma substitute.
