“…insulator has the hydrogen (H + ) and carbon (C + , C ++ ) ions (species) in the plasma as per the spectroscopic and charge collector studies in literature [23][24][25][26]. The plasma species is identified using the Faraday cup diagnostic and the plasma density is measured by placing the Faraday cup at 25mm from the plasma gun where the cathode of POS is placed.…”

“…The plasma density of H-plasma and C-plasma are (1.6 ± 0.5) × 10 19 m −3 and (2.8 ± 0.6) × 10 19 m −3 with velocities measured using plasma transit times at two locations axial to the plasma gun are (4.54 ± 0.25) cm/μs and (1.81 ± 0.18) cm/μs respectively. The first peak in the density waveform in figure 4 is the H-plasma cloud and the second peak is the C-plasma cloud because the hydrogen has a lower mass and higher velocity compared to the carbon ions [25] and as the hydrogen ion has a single proton, it rapidly recombines with the electrons compared to carbon ions [23,27,28]. These plasma parameter measurement experiments are carried out on a single plasma gun in the vacuum chamber by removing the cathode electrode.…”

“…Only these electrons have maximum chances to escape from an aperture that has energy . collector studies in references [29,30]. The parameters considered for calculation of density of hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively using TLP and FC are given in table 1.…”
