“…Evaluation at relapse showed the reappearance of hyperaldosteronism associated with elevated renin activity. It has previously been shown that plasma renin levels are often increased in patients with paraganglionoma or phaeochromocytoma (Hiner et al., 1976), and that catecholamines per se stimulate the release of renin. This mechanism did not seem to explain the increased levels of renin in this patient as 24 h urine catecholamine levels (Table 1 legend) were essentially normal throughout the course of the disease.…”
