“…A previous cohort study utilized data from the Medical Data Vision claims database in Japan that included 718 patients with GPP and 27,773 with plaque psoriasis; focusing on the prevalence of comorbidities, medication use, and healthcare resource utilization, the results showed a higher incidence of interstitial pneumonia [ 95 ]. Although the direct relationship between GPP-related IL-36 and lung disease remains unclear, another study examined the role of IL-36 cytokines in rheumatoid arthritis related interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) [ 96 ]. It found that plasma concentrations of IL-36α and IL-36γ were higher in RA-ILD patients compared to healthy controls and RA patients without ILD [ 96 ], suggesting a possible role of IL-36 in lung diseases.…”

“…Markers of pulmonary vasculopathy, such as vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM-1), monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1), and asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), have been reported as useful biomarkers of ILD in RA patients and can help in the differential diagnosis of RA-ILD from IPF [ 108 ]. Other reported biomarkers include endothelin-1 [ 109 ], interleukin 13, 18 [ 107 ], 36a and 36γ [ 110 ], and HE4 [ 111 ]. It appears that patients with RA-ILD have short telomeres compared to other CTD-ILDs, and they have worse outcomes in terms of survival and lung function than the other CTD-ILDs, suggesting that telomere length plays an important prognostic role in this disease [ 112 ].…”

“…Plasma levels of IL-36α and IL-36γ were higher in RA patients with interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) compared to those in healthy controls or RA patients without ILD ( Table 1 ). 67 Rheumatoid arthritis-ILD patients with usual interstitial pneumonia pattern (UIP) showed more plasma levels of IL-36γ than that in RA-ILD patients without UIP. Rheumatoid arthritis patients complicated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) revealed elevated serum levels of IL-36α and IL-36γ than those in patients with SLE.…”
