Ports are a significant part of the global and regional cargo supply chain and transport network. Since the performance of ports has a significant impact on the economic growth of their countries, it is necessary to constantly analyse and plan port performance, to anticipate market trends and to improve the ability of a port to withstand the increasing overall competitive pressure. In port performance, not only physical ability to handle the flow of cargo, but also the potential competition for cargo is important. The methods presented in the scientific literature provide with an opportunity to evaluate only the technical efficiency of ports, completely excluding the aspect of financial performance of ports or the prospects for developing competitive advantages. Whereas, financial analyses are not suitable to study port performance. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to develop the evaluation model of seaports' performance that would enable assessing the financial situation of the organisation and determining its position in the market in relation to its competitors. The article analyses the factors of business competitiveness and the methods for their evaluation as well as the theoretical aspects of applying financial analysis. After different methodologies and evaluation models proposed by different authors are analysed, the economic evaluation model of port performance developed by the authors of the present article is presented. By applying this model, the evaluation of the performance of the Baltic seaports is carried out.

This paper deals with key competences of students and graduates at a selected public university with an economic orientation in the Slovak Republic. The students expect from the University to have access to quality education, but also after finishing their studies to be able to apply them in practice. The businesses and organizations expect from university graduates to be equipped with competencies needed to develop their businesses and maintain their competitiveness. This paper discusses the equipment of graduates with general competencies such as knowledge, skills, abilities, values and attitudes, as well as managerial competencies such as communication, planning, organization and control, analytical thinking, creativity, problem solving, management and leadership, teamwork, flexibility and digital skills, etc. The paper presents the results of a survey focused on the scope of skills and competencies of the graduates of the University of Žilina, the Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, the Economics and Business Management study program. There the student´s profile is managerial oriented and the range of skills and competencies are considered to be the key factors for university graduates to be employed in a modern society.

The current situation on a field of 3D print does not allow significant changes in the printer's construction. 3D printer's build area is often a limiting factor. The goal of this project is the design of a modular construction of a 3D printer. In the future, that would mean, that after purchase and after query for increasing build area, it would be necessary just to connect another unified block. All the changes could allow rapid modification of the printer's properties without increasing cost or rebuilding construction. As a result, it was able to develop a construction that is able to expand the build area at one axis. It is able to expand the build area with almost no limit in one direction.
