PLANEX: the plant co-expression database

Abstract: BackgroundThe PLAnt co-EXpression database (PLANEX) is a new internet-based database for plant gene analysis. PLANEX (http://planex.plantbioinformatics.org) contains publicly available GeneChip data obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). PLANEX is a genome-wide co-expression database, which allows for the functional identification of genes from a wide variety of experimental designs. It can be used for the characterization of genes for funct… Show more

“…Several resources are already available for GCN analysis in maize, including COB (Schaefer et al, 2014), CORNET (De Bodt et al, 2012), CoP (Ogata et al, 2010), PLANEX (Yim et al, 2013), and ATTED-II ). All of the databases except ATTED-II used PCC to build GCN from 128 to 379 microarray datasets.…”

“…One of the perspectives resulting of the numerous available data is the analysis of expression profile per genes and the comparison between genes in order to produce expression gene cluster. Different web tools such as ATTED II (Aoki, et al, 2016), STRING database (Szklarczyk, et al, 2015), PlaNet (Ruprecht, et al, 2017), Planex (Yim, et al, 2013), CoP (Ogata et al, 2010) PlantExpress (Kudo, et al, 2017) ou COEXPRESSdb (Obayashi, et al, 2013) are available. The purpose of these programs is to represent expression gene cluster mainly for Arabidopsis thaliana.…”
