Abstract:Geoplanidae comprises approximately 900 species and is divided into four subfamilies: Bipaliinae Stimpson, 1857 (cosmopolitan), Geoplaninae Stimpson, 1857 (neotropical), Microplaninae Pantin, 1853 (cosmopolitan), and Rhynchodeminae Graff, 1896 (cosmopolitan).
