Planar imaging in a Mach 8 flow using sodium Laser-Induced Fluorescence

Ancillary optical scattering measurements were made on the LR91 which indicated the existence of an annulus of particles in the flow periphery. The absolute attenuation of the laser beam was used to deduce the identity of the particles as unvaporized fuel droplets.
