Placebo outsourcing: when does provider’s bluffing enhance customer satisfaction?

Abstract: Purpose Drawing on signaling theory, this paper aims to argue in favor of a “placebo outsourcing effect” (POE) consisting of a positive relationship between provider’s bluffing and customer satisfaction.
