Pituitary Abscesses in Four Free-Ranging White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

Abstract: Although intracranial abscesses are a well-recognized cause of morbidity and mortality in free-ranging white-tailed deer ( Odocoileus virginianus), reports of pituitary abscesses in this species are scarce. Pituitary abscesses were the cause of neurologic disease in four adult white-tailed deer from the southeastern United States in 2013-15.
