Spurred by the rapid modernisation of the sector and advent of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Audio visual (AV) piracy is at epidemic levels, with interventions having limited effect. The dominant theme in interventions to date have been around personal deterrence (i.e., the threat of legal action) and have not considered other factors that may influence an individual’s decision to consume infringing content. In this paper, we consider psychological factors, including perceptions around risk-taking, security behaviours, problematic internet use and personality traits to gain a comprehensive understanding of factors influencing engagement with IPTV, and the potential implications for cybersecurity. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 283 participants living in the UK (age range 18 - 74, male 104), and an integrated structural equation model was constructed. Our findings showed a positive relationship between security behaviours and the perceived risk of viewing IPTV, and a negative relationship between the dark personality triad and perceived risk of viewing IPTV. They suggest that security behaviours fully mediate the relationship between problematic internet use and IPTV risk taking, indicating a potential new path forward for anti-piracy interventions with greater efficacy.

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence a person's intention to use a subscription-based streaming service application using the perspective of the inertia of piracy movie application users. This study investigates the factors that affect the inertia of movie piracy application users. The theory used is a combination of the status quo bias theory and coping theory. This research uses a quantitative approach and an online survey method for data collection. Data collection resulted in 378 responses that were subsequently analyzed using the covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) technique. It was found that inertia (the level of user inertia) negatively affects intention to use (the intention to use a subscription-based streaming service application) and convenience. In addition, convenience, perceived controllability (a person's level of control over the application), and morality positively influence intention to use. Furthermore, it was also found that perceived cost and personalization do not affect the intention to use. Inertia is also positively and significantly influenced by the transition cost (effort to move). The factors that have the highest correlation values are transition cost and inertia. Digitalisasi dengan bantuan teknologi yang semakin canggih dan akses internet yang ada. Kini, keperluan manusia dapat lebih praktis dan cepat terselesaikan. Hal ini juga terjadi, karena adanya modernitas. Modernitas merupakan sebuah proses perkembangan yang tidak dapat di pungkiri di seluruh negara, tidak terkecuali pada negara berkembang. Kita juga dapat melihat adanya modernitas dengan munculnya penerapan pengetahuan ilmiah pada setiap aspek kehidupan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aspek hukum penjualan akun Netflix illegal melalui media social. Penelitian ini menggunakan yuridis normatif artinya penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan sumber bahan hukum kepustakaan dengan metode pendekatan Undang-undang dan pendekatan konseptual. Dalam hal tersebut peneliti ingin mengetahui lebih lanjut mengenai bagaimana bentuk perlindungan hukum bagi Netflix terhadap penjualan akun Netflix illegal melalui media sosial. Dalam penelitian tersebut peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa bentuk perlindungan hukum bagi Netflix terhadap penjualan akun illegal melalui media sosial haruslah seimbang dengan cara dapat dilakukan melalui upaya preventif dan represif.
