Rhythmic gymnastics is an Olympic sport with enabling and coordinating features characterized by "small tools" such as rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. The competitive program sees both individual and team performance. Dyslexia is a learning disorder, the failure of the development of hemispheric dominance or conflicts of dominance between the two hemispheres. In addition to having learning problems, people suffering from dyslexia also have problems in cognition of their bodies within space and with the musical rhythm. The aim is to verify if a dyslexic athlete can succeed in practicing this sport competitively, finding benefits in terms of performance, but especially in the sphere of self-esteem and sociality. Through the case study and ethnographic approach it was found that the gymnast manages to achieve the same results as the other gymnasts who train with her, but showing a small difficulty in teamwork. Moreover, after several steps it was found that the gymnast, already having innate physical qualities, during the competitions will be more valid than his training companions, despite his learning difficulties. These results encourage to deepen the links between physical activity and personal aspects because he is an athlete to all intents and purposes, with potential and weaknesses on a par with other athletes.

The menstrual cycle phase and the duration of practice often interfere with female futsal athletes' performance during training. This study explores the relationship between exercise duration, menstrual disorder and the performance of women’s futsal athletes. This research method uses a survey. The subjects of this study were 22 female futsal athletes in the city of Cimahi. The instrument was a closed interview validated by a women's soccer expert (coach of the Indonesian women's soccer team) from STKIP Pasundan and tested on three participants who met the inclusion criteria. Descriptive analysis is presented as the mean and differences between groups were evaluated by t-test with a statistically significant level of p < 0.05. Descriptive analysis using SPSS software (version 21.0). This study reveals that the significance test with sig.0.13 <0.05 on the duration variable, which means that the exercise's duration directly affects the athlete's performance. In comparison, the menstrual cycle variable has a sig.0.91 value > 0.05, which means that the menstrual cycle does not directly affect the performance of female futsal athletes. However, the significant results showed no effect of the menstrual cycle on the performance of female futsal athletes. This study recommends that female futsal coaches pay attention to the duration of training during the menstrual period for each athlete to achieve optimal performance.

The effect of difficulty and execution scores on total ranking during 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

Rhythmic gymnastics (RG) is a competitive sport and competition results include multiple components such as difficulty (D) and execution (E) scores. Both coaches and researchers should consider the components of performance scores separately. The aim of the current study was to identify the most indicative apparatus score on total ranking in the individual all-around finals of 37th RG World Championships (WCh), 2019, Baku, Azerbaijan and to determine the most important D and/or E scores on overall ranking. Total of 312 scores of 24 gymnasts competed at individual all-around finals were analyzed. Correlations among total qualification, total D, total E, and total apparatus scores of each apparatus were determined by Pearson correlation analysis. Multiple regression analysis was used and model-fitting performance was assessed by coefficient of determination (R2). When correlations among total qualification score and total D, total E scores of each apparatus were analyzed moderate and strong relationships were found (p < 0.001). The percentages that D and E scores explained the total score ranged between 79.3 and 44%. Total ball D score explained 79.3% of the variability in standings and it was the best predictor score. Total ribbon E score was found to be the second effective score on ranking (71%). Finally, total hoop E score had the least effect by 44%. Apart from these, two different total score estimation models that trainers/gymnasts may use practically were enhanced during this study.
