“…In conclusion, the results of this meta-analysis showed that colon CCE is a feasible alternative method for colon investigation, including screening for polyps and colorectal cancer, patients with incomplete colonoscopy, 22 those with contraindications for conventional colonoscopy, or those unwilling to undergo colonoscopy because of its perceived inconvenience and discomfort. Hopefully, this method will expand the portfolio of screening methods available.…”

“…Riccioni et al [8] detected a bleeding colon cancer with small bowel capsule while Spada et al [9] reported a case in whom CCE allowed a complete colonoscopy that was impossible initially with conventional endoscopy. Triantafyllou et al [10] in a retrospective case series found that in only half of the patients with incomplete colonoscopy CCE offered a satisfactory colon examination. To our knowledge this is the first case presentation demonstrating the combination of CCE and immediate conventional colonoscopy to the diagnosis of bleeding colon cancer and the successful removal of a stuck capsule.…”

“…et al report a case study [3] identifying the advantages of the PillCam over traditional endoscopy. The work concludes that the PillCam can be a feasible and safe diagnostic tool, and may represent an alternative in cases of difficult or incomplete colonoscopies, however Triantafyllou et al [4] evaluate whether WCE can complete colon examination after failure of conventional colonoscopy. Their findings conclude that in their series of patients with incomplete colonoscopy, WCE did not always satisfactorily examine the colon due to insufficient exposure to the entire region at risk.…”
