Picture Fuzzy Petri Nets for Knowledge Representation and Acquisition in Considering Conflicting Opinions

Abstract: Fuzzy Petri nets (FPNs) have been applied in many fields as a potential modeling tool for knowledge representation and reasoning. However, there exist many deficiencies in the conventional FPNs when applied in the real world. In this paper, we present a new type of FPN, called picture fuzzy Petri nets (PFPNs), to overcome the shortcomings and improve the effectiveness of the traditional FPNs. First, the proposed PFPN model adopts the picture fuzzy sets (PFSs), characterized by degrees of positive membership, n… Show more

“…There is also possibility of adding some constraints to firing time resulting in other subtypes of an SPN, or using additional rules governing the flow of tokens, such as in a queueing Petri nets (also described in [ 9 ]). It is worth mentioning that there exist many other variants of Petri nets which can be useful in various applications (see, e.g., [ 6 , 7 , 12 , 13 , 14 ]). In our study the standard stochastic Petri net described in this section proved to be best suited for the analysis and simulation of the proposed model.…”

“…For more effective EDM, Ding and Liu () reported a two‐dimension uncertain linguistic prospect theory‐VIKOR (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOm‐promisno Resenje) approach, and Ding and Liu () presented a Pythagorean fuzzy uncertain linguistic zero‐sum game method. Xu, et al () developed a model for large group EDM with complex preferences based on emergency similarity and interval consistency, and Xu, Pan, and Yang () provided a large group risk dynamic EDM method based on dual influence of preference transfer and risk preference. An integrated fault tree analysis network process framework was presented in (Zhou et al, ) for emergency rescue planning under probabilistic linguistic environment.…”

“…For instance, Jana, Senapati, Pal, and Yager () developed six picture fuzzy Dombi aggregation operators for the probable assessment of technology commercialization. Xu, Shi, Xu, and Liu () proposed an improved fuzzy Petri net model for knowledge representation and acquisition considering experts' conflicting opinions. Yang, Hu, Liu, and Chen () introduced a group picture hesitant fuzzy approach for alternative selection of end‐of‐life vehicle management in China.…”

“…Hence, they tend to have different judgements on the knowledge parameters of an FPN. Such discrepancies in opinions of experts could cause intra‐group conflicts, which can potentially lead to non‐cooperation and thus are not conducive to the final knowledge parameter determination (Xu et al, 2019; Xu et al, 2020). Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the conflict among experts or reduce it under an acceptable degree in the knowledge acquisition process.…”
