Abstract. Purpose:The purpose of the present study was to investigate the trainability of body composition, aerobic power and muscular endurance of cadet wrestlers. Subjects: Fifteen cadet wrestlers (age: 15.20±0.94 years) participated in this study. Methods: The testing was conducted twice, before and after four-week training period. The physiological parameters included aerobic power, muscular endurance and body composition. Results: A significant decrease in the body fat was observed following the training (P<0.05). No significant changes were found in the weight, aerobic power and muscular endurance measures (P >0.05). Conclusion: Our results indicated that wrestlers experienced significant changes in their body fat percentage during four-week training period. Cadet wrestlers' aerobic power, muscular endurance and body composition are trainable, although these improvements may be less than what has been observed in junior and senior wrestlers.

In this paper, comparison of somatotype characteristics and anthropometric proportional relations of elite wrestlers at the level of styles and weights and, contribution to improvement and orientation of sport is aimed. 57 elite wrestlers took place in the European Championship Preparatory Camp of Turkish National Adults Wrestling Team (31 greco-roman style with 7 light weight, 14 medium weight and 10 heavy weight -with av. height: 168.9 cm. and av. weight: 81.1 kg.; 26 free style with 8 light weight, 12 are medium weight and 6 heavy weight -with av. height: 173.0 cm. and av. weight: 87.9 kg), analyzed in this study. As a result of anthropometric measurements, there are no meaningful differences between free style and greco-roman elite wrestlers both in style and weigh. Wrestlers, as evaluated in somatotype, free and greco-roman styles are characterized as endomorphic mesomorphy, lightweight wrestlers are measured as balanced mesomorphy, medium-weight wrestlers are found endomorphic mesomorphy and heavy-weight wrestlers are characterized as endomorphic mesomorphy. Meaningful difference have found between weights. In spite of there is no differentiate effect of styles for wrestlers, partake in the similar training, nutrition and competition programs from childhood, weight, leaning on differentiates of somatotypes in the frame of the components like height, weight, length of bust and arm etc., emanates differences.

INTRODUÇÃO: A força e a resistência muscular são componentes da aptidão física importantes para a saúde e alto rendimento. Os testes de flexão de braços, puxada em suspensão na barra e puxada em suspensão na barra modificada, utilizam o próprio peso corporal e avaliam as capacidades motoras relacionadas à aptidão física, saúde e ao desempenho atlético, no sentido de mensurar a força e resistência muscular dos membros superiores em ambos os sexos e ampla faixa etária. OBJETIVOS: O objetivo deste estudo foi buscar na literatura os aspectos metodológicos relacionados à validade, fidedignidade, objetividade e procedimentos específicos utilizados nos testes: flexão de braços, puxada suspensão na barra e puxada em suspensão na barra modificada, fazendo, dessa forma, um levantamento dos indicadores de rendimento desses testes em atletas de alto nível de diferentes modalidades. CONCLUSÃO: Os testes de flexão de braços, puxada em suspensão na barra e puxada em suspensão na barra modificada são eficientes, confiáveis, de fácil aplicação e são ferramentas que empregam baixo custo, além de requererem pouco treinamento do avaliador. Entretanto, devemos chamar a atenção quanto à padronização e as recomendações metodológicas para suas aplicações, para que possam ser utilizados com segurança na reabilitação e no desempenho atlético.
