Physiological Basis of Smut Infectivity in the Early Stages of Sugar Cane Colonization

Abstract: Sugar cane smut (Sporisorium scitamineum) interactions have been traditionally considered from the plant’s point of view: How can resistant sugar cane plants defend themselves against smut disease?
