Physioelectrochemical Investigation of Electrocatalytic Activity of Modified Carbon Paste Electrode in Alcohol Oxidation as Anode in Fuel Cell

Abstract: : Methanol electro oxidation on the surface of carbon paste modified by NiCl 2 /6H 2 O was studied in 1 M NaOH by potentiostatic and potentiodynamic methods. Ni/C catalyst by the concentration of 5% Ni showed about twice higher electro catalytic activity than Ni metal. The amount of monolayer's on the surface of electrode is almost one order higher for Ni/C than Ni electrode. The kinetic parameters and the diffusion coefficient of methanol were derived from chronoamperometry (CA) and electrochemical impedance … Show more

“…Cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques were used to investigate the electrochemical properties of the PANI/PbS electrode. CV is an electrochemical technique that can reveal a lot about the characteristics of different electrodes in different media [ 67 , 68 , 69 ]. Figure 5 a shows the CV curves of the PANI/PbS in 0.2 M HCl and Na 2 SO 4 electrolytes at a scan rate of 10 mV s −1 .…”

“…The most SC for composite electrode is obtained when the current density for charge/discharge process is 0.8 A/g. resistances [42][43][44][45]. There is a semicircle in high frequencies which is related to the charge transfer resistance (R ct ) caused by the Faradiac reactions and the double-layer capacitance (C dl ) at the contact interface between electrode and electrolyte solution.…”
