Physics Education: Effect of Micro-teaching Method Supported by Educational Technologies on Pre-service Science Teachers’ Misconceptions on Basic Astronomy Subjects

Abstract: The purpose of this research study is to explore pre-service science teachers' misconceptions on basic astronomy subjects and to examine the effect of micro teaching method supported by educational technologies on correcting misconceptions. This study is an action research. Semi-structured interviews were used in the study as a data collection tool to identify pre-service teachers' misconceptions on basic astronomy subjects. The data gathered from the interviews were interpreted via descriptive analysis. The r… Show more

“…Misconceptions is one of the main problem which prevent the clear understanding of many physics subjects. There are many researches figured out the misconceptions in physics (Gurbuz, 2016;Ergin, 2016). For example, Gurbuz (2016) has tried to explore pre-service science teachers' misconceptions on basic astronomy subjects.…”

“…The results of the researches share similarities. It has been revealed by the researches that micro teaching method applications make substantial contribution to the teacher candidates in terms of decreasing the excessive excitement, Professional experience, self-confidence increment, opportunity for the teacher candidates to be able to evaluate themselves, planning in educational system, and other subjects such as class management and communication [33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40,41].…”
