Abstract

Comprehensive development of physical qualities of the future law enforcement officer should contribute to the formation of his ability to act effectively in extreme conditions of official activity. Therefore, the control of physical fitness of cadets of higher education institutions that train police officers is a mandatory component of the educational process. The study of the peculiarities of the development of physical qualities of applicants allows teachers to identify problematic aspects in this area and determine effective measures to solve them. Of particular importance is the solution to the issue of ensuring the proper level of physical fitness of police officers under martial law, in connection with the expansion of their powers. The article analyzes the indicators of physical fitness of applicants for the first and second years of study, it is determined that first-year cadets have significantly higher results in all tests that were used in the study. This situation testifies to the discrepancy between the physical fitness of senior cadets and regulatory requirements, the insufficient efficiency of the current system of physical training of future law enforcement officers, the need to find ways to improve it. To solve this problem, the authors propose a systematic approach, namely: to regularly monitor the employment of graduates, to determine professionally significant physical and psychophysical qualities for the performance of official duties, to select physical exercises and sports that are of applied importance, to establish the optimal ratio of general and professionally applied physical training by years of study, to include special tests and standards for evaluation in physical training programs the level of development of professionally significant physical and psychophysical qualities; to intensify health-improving and recreational motor activity and sports and mass work with cadets in extracurricular time by organizing the work of health groups and sections on sports, holding sports competitions and sports events; to create favorable conditions for self-study of applicants, to provide cadets with the amount of knowledge necessary for independent planning of physical exercises; to form the motivational and value-based attitude of applicants to physical exercises; introduce innovative educational technologies into the process of physical training.
