Hazard identification is a fundamental step in safety management that has the potential to reduce the number and severity of occupational injuries on construction sites. Researchers have identified and evaluated some of the hazards, but few have extensively discussed all of them and none have classified them by sector. The goal of this paper is to fill that research gap by considering hazard identification through an organized synthesis of the existing literature. After a comprehensive literature review, 236 publications were deemed eligible for further analysis. Eighteen safety hazards were identified and then categorized into four groups based on their physiological impacts, ranked based on frequency of citation, and classified by sector. The results revealed that falls from heights, material handling, and heavy machinery were the most frequently cited hazards and the most likely to impact all sectors. Mitigation strategies were also identified, and it was determined that most hazards can be mitigated through the use of personal protective equipment, and effective training and supervision.

Environmental change is a hot issue in recent years, in addition to environmental protection, biology and other industries, it also has a lot of impact on the economy. For coastal areas, which rely on tourism as their backbone, climate change affects them more intuitively. The starting point of this topic is to quantify impacts of coastal tourism, so as to manage and control them. The study uses official data released by the Hainan Municipal government and the Meteorological Bureau to compare the impact of different climate factors on the local tourism economy and combines data from other studies. The research points out that abnormal precipitation will lead to the decline of tourism revenue. For some special heavy rain caused by the surge in precipitation, it will greatly reduce the income of local tourism. In addition, extreme climate, including typhoons, Qingming wind, extreme high temperature, etc., will affect the decline of the number of local tourism and threatening local tourism industry. Studying the effects of climate change can help coastal areas better plan their economies, help tourists choose when to visit, and protect travelers and tourism workers during special months.

Background: The working conditions in the South African public service, notably its challenging environment, pose significant threats to the physical health of employees. Calls exist in understanding how this can be addressed.Aim: The study investigated the predictors of physical health, accounting for the role of organisational climate and decent work.Setting: The study was conducted in Bisho in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.Methods: An instrument was administered through a survey using a sample of 289 respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to test the hypothesised relationships.Results: No significant direct effect existed to show that the sounder an organisational climate, the better the physical health of employees will be (β = –0.014, t = –0.199, p = 0.843, 95% confidence interval [CI] [–0.153 to 0.125]). However, statistically significant evidence existed to show that the more focus on promoting decent work, the better the physical health of employees will be (β = 0.463, p = 0.001, 95% CI [0.258 to 0.668]). Finally, decent work has a full mediating effect on the relationship between organisational climate and employee physical health (β = 0.105, 95% CI [0.054 to 0.167]).Conclusion: Public service organisations need to pay attention to the role of its climate and decent working conditions in promoting employee physical health.Contribution: Interventions are needed centered on improving decent work and the organisational climate as identified predictors of employee physical health.
