Physical Education Learning Management System for Senior High Schools

Abstract

The mentioned Learning Management System (LMS) is designed for the exclusive purpose of facilitating distance learning. It operates autonomously as a learning manager, without any external involvement throughout the learning process. Naturally, this system operates in an online capacity, hence facilitating widespread accessibility for educational entities. The primary objective of the Learning Management System (LMS) development is to enhance the quality of physical education instruction and improve the management of learning processes through increased control. The study methodology was implemented through a series of four distinct steps. The initial phase involves a needs analysis, followed by developing learning management system products in the subsequent stage. Subsequently, trials are conducted to assess the system's efficacy, leading to the final stage of publishing the learning management system to a broader educational unit. The present study presents the findings of a research project that involved conducting trials on a sample of 130 participants from various regions in East Java, namely: (1) the northern region (Surabaya), (2) the central region (Malang), (3) the southern region (Blitar), (4) the eastern region (Banyuwangi), and (5) the western region (Madiun). The overall yield of the trials was 85.72%, indicating that the tested category is deemed suitable for use. Based on the study's findings, it can be inferred from the outcomes of product trials conducted on participants that the learning management system designed for physical education has the potential for use in high school physical education instruction.
