Abstract: Soybean is a major source of high quality protein and oil and soybean seed quality is often determined by seed nutritional and antinutritional parameters.

“…Among all the genotypes, DS2708 exhibited highest (43.23 g/100g) and EC 251388 least (28.03 g/100g) total soluble protein content. Variability in free amino acids and soluble protein content among soybean genotypes has been reported in earlier studies also (Goyal et al, 2012;Sharma et al, 2014).…”

“…Among all the genotypes SL781 and SEL7 exhibited maximum (0.118g) and minimum (0.055g) weight/ seed. A wide variation for 100 seed weight has been reported by various authors among soybean seeds varying in seed coat colour (Zhang et al, 2010;Hirota et al, 2012;Goyal et al, 2012;Sharma et al, 2014 green and yellow coloured groups of soybean genotypes, respectively (Fig 1). Among black coloured soybean genotypes, dry matter was highest in SL783 and lowest in SEL37.…”

“…Approximately 1.7-fold differences in seed iron (Fe) concentration were observed in a diversity study consisting of 27 soybean genotypes (Moraghan and Helms 2005). A few studies have reported variation in seed Cys and Met (Panthee et al 2006a, b;Sharma et al 2011) in soybean. Variation in seed Met and Cys concentrations were reported for eight soybean genotypes, where varieties differed by 2.7-fold for Met and 1.2-fold for Cys concentrations (Sharma et al 2011).…”
