Physical and optical properties of zinc tellurite Glass embedded Silver Nanoparticles co-dopedwith Nd3+/Er3+ ions

Abstract: A series of Silver Nanoparticles embedded in the system of zinc-tellurite glass co-doped Neodymium/Erbium ions with the composition of (69.5-2.5x)TeO2–30ZnCl2–xNd2O3–xEr2O3–(0.5+0.5x)AgCl concentration from 0.0 to 3.0 mol% (x=0, 1, 2 and 3) have successfully been synthesized by melt-quenching techniques. The amorphous nature of the glass was confirmed from x-ray diffraction technique. The decrease of refractive index from 2.446 to 2.429 is attributed to the generation of bridging oxygen atoms via the conversio… Show more

“…2 shows the locations and functions of the band in the glasses. The 464-471 cm-1 band (q 1 ) was caused by the vibration of the Te-O-Te bond between TeO4 and BO [14,20]. There are three-dimensional networks of TeO2 rich glasses that contain oxygen at two equatorial and axial sites, where only one equatorial site is connected to a lone pair electron ofTeO4 polyhedron having 1 short and 3 extended Te-O bonds.…”

“…The glass forming mechanism is being understood by this. It is interesting to investigate the photoluminescence behaviour and the structural properties by using Differential thermal analysis (DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy in these glass systems as a function of co-dopant concentration 25 .…”
