Abstract: Background: Physicians' own Physical Activity (PA) and other health-related habits influence PA promotion. The present study identifies the PA level, according to the current PA recommendations and other health-related habits of physicians from the Catalan Medical Council. “…25 The rates of BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2 reported in studies from other countries are in the range of 40–50%, which is similar to our survey. The prevalence of smoking was lowest among cardiologists in the USA at 1.3%, 20 while it was highest in Cataluna, Spain, at 19.5%, 24 compared to 7.6% in the clinical staff in this study, and 20.5% in the UK general population. 18 The lower prevalence of smoking in hospital staff could be explained by the no smoking policy within hospital buildings in the UK as well as increased awareness of the harmful effects of smoking over the past few years.…”

“…4 However, it is lower than that reported among cardiologists in Spain (19.5%). 14 On the other hand, the rate of smoking in this study was 26.1% among nonclinical staff, which is higher than that reported among the general population in Saudi Arabia (12.2%) 15 and in the general population of the United Kingdom (20.5%). 16 This figure is alarming and requires further investigation with genderadjusted models, considering that most of the participants in this study were female.…”

“…Az orvosok dohányzási szokásai jellemzően kedvezőbbek az általános társadalmi adatoknál, míg az alkoholfogyasztási szokások sok esetben kedvezőtlenebbek. További probléma, hogy az orvosok sok esetben nem fordítanak kellő figyelmet saját egészségi állapotukra, a megfelelő szűrési, gondozási tevékenységekben páciensként való részvételre [9][10][11][12][13][14][15].…”
