Panulirus homarus comprises several putative subspecies, and its evolutionary history and phylogeography have been popular subjects in the recent literature (Farhadi, Farahmand, Nematollahi, Jeffs, & Lavery, 2013;Farhadi et al, 2017, Lavery et al, 2014Reddy, MacDonald, Groeneveld, & Schleyer, 2014;Singh, Groeneveld, Al-Marzouqi, & Willows-Munro, 2017).
