Phule Tur-12 a new high yielding, pigeonpea variety for central zone of India

Abstract: A pigeonpea variety (Phule Tur 12) is developed by pedigree selection method from a cross ICP-332 x BSMR-736 at Pulses Improvement Project, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (MS). It has semi-spreading, indeterminate growth habit, bold seed size, moderately resistant to wilt, sterility mosaic and tolerant to pod borer, pod fly, root knot and cyst nematode, better response to inputs and perform well under rainfed condition.
