Photovoltaic MPPT Techniques Comparative Review

Abstract: This paper critically reviews some of the most recent maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques developed. It outlines the methods proposed in the papers published. The different techniques are grouped for compa following groups: Direct and indirect power point tracking, artificial intelligence tracking techniques and other developed methods. The paper also critically summarises the findings in terms of dynamic performance in maximum power extraction.

“…2023 will be the year when new global capacity will exceed 100 GW for the first time, with GWEC Business Intelligence forecasting 15% annual growth [3]. Recent research has delved into comparative analyses of MPPT techniques, offering valuable insights into improving efficiency in wind production systems [4]. In this paper the focus of this scheme is to develop and implement a system for controlling the speed of a wind turbine to optimize its output power.…”

“…However, it suffers from several drawbacks like oscillation near the maximum power. Therefore, for space applications, we examine other essential techniques such as Incremental Conductance (IC), and Ripple Correlation Control (RCC) [8]. From the above literature review, this work proposes a comparative study of the conventional P&O, IC, and RCC in two different scenarios.…”

“…26 These approaches are easy to use, but unfortunately oscillations are occurred, also give lesser accuracy. The adaptive P&O approach was suggested to raise the standard P&O mode and gives greater performance, 27 but this approach has time vary convergence. The neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic, and swarm algorithm are utilized to track maximum power in PV with the help of current and voltage measurements.…”
