Abstract:A photoredox defluorinative silylation of α-trifluoromethyl arylalkenes for rapid access to useful gem-difluoroalkenes is disclosed. The stable and easily prepared silacarboxylic acids are used as the silyl radical precursors via a photocatalytic decarboxylative process.
