Photoneutron cross section measurements on Sm isotopes

Abstract: Abstract. The Extreme Light Infrastructure -Nuclear Physics, one of the three pillars of the Extreme Light Infrastructure Pan-European initiative, is a new large scale facility dedicated to nuclear physics with extreme electromagnetic fields. ELI-NP will host two 10 PW lasers and a very brilliant Gamma beam system with unprecedented intensity and energy resolution parameters. We propose to perform photon induced nuclear reactions using the very brilliant γ-ray beams provided by the Gamma beam system to examine … Show more

“…Response functions of the LCS γ-ray beams were measured with a 3.5 × 4.0 LaBr 3 (Ce) (LaBr 3 ) detector. The energy profiles of the LCS γ-ray beams were determined by best reproducing the response functions in Monte Carlo simulations with a GEANT4 code [22,23] that incorporates the kinematics of the LCS process, including the electron beam emittance [24,25]. The incident LCS γ-ray beams are shown in Fig.…”
