Photoluminescent Properties of CoMoO4 Nanorods Quickly Synthesized and Annealed in a Domestic Microwave Oven

Abstract: A simple way to prepare -and -CoMoO 4 nanorods is reported in this paper. CoMoO 4 ·xH 2 O nanorod precursors were obtained using the microwave-assisted hydrothermal (MAH) method. By annealing the as-prepared CoMoO 4 ·xH 2 O precursor at 600˚C for 10 min in a domestic microwave oven, -and -CoMoO 4 nanorods were prepared. These powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform Raman microscopy and ultraviolet visible absorption spectrosc… Show more

“…In Figure B, the three samples exhibit very similar Raman bands. For example, the bands at 932 and 872 cm −1 correspond to Mo‐O‐Mo and Mo‐O stretching modes; the bands at 809 and 350 cm −1 refer to MoO 4 vibrations; the band at 700 cm −1 is assigned to Co‐Mo‐O symmetric stretching modes . It can be observed that the FTIR peaks of the samples with different amounts of urotropin are also analogical (Figure C).…”

The peaks at 700 to 1000 cm −1 are associated with Mo-O deformation vibrations; the peaks at 1560 and 1630 cm −1 are attributed to asymmetric stretching modes of MoO 4.…”

“…Recently, the domestic microwave oven has been successfully employed to obtain many ceramic materials with improved quality and size distributions of the nanomaterials [1922]. Advantages such as rapid heating, selective material coupling, and enhanced reaction kinetics make the microwave process an attractive route for these materials' synthesis [2327], showing significant advantages against conventional sintering procedures [2830]. Recently, Oghbaei and Mirzaee [30] reported a complete review on the subject.…”

“…The broad peak centered at 3442 cm −1 is owing to the hydroxyl (O-H) stretching mode [41] while the one located at 1624 cm −1 verified the existence of O-H bending vibrations of water molecule. The spectra of CoMoO4/rGO sample revealed peaks centereda at 924 and 864 cm −1 ascribe to the symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibration of O-Mo-O [42]. However, a peak located at 672 cm −1 is ascribed to Co-Mo-O stretching vibration [43].…”
