Photoluminescence Study of ZnO Nanostructures Grown by Hydrothermal Method

Abstract: The photoluminescence spectra of ZnO nanorods grown by the hydrothermal method were investigated. In the nanostructures the neutral donor bound excitons dominate in the ultraviolet (UV) region of the photoluminescence spectrum at liquid helium temperature. The presence of the band two electron satellite transitions (TES) of the donor bound excitons allow to determine the donor binding energies ED of about 53 meV. On the basis of the measurements performed at different temperatures the thermal activation energy… Show more

“…As an acting electrode-cathode porous silicon was used, and as the second electrode-anode -a plate of graphite. The nanowires were tried to obtain by deposition in water equimolar solution of Zn(NO3)26Н2О and hexamine (С6Н12N4) at a concentration of 10-30 mM, pH 7 ± 0,1 and 0,1 M KCl [16].…”

“…Vacuum methods of obtaining highly disperse arrays have a number of advantages of chemical technologies [10][11][12] which are widely used now. Thus, the condensation of samples and their dispersion under high vacuum conditions makes it almost completely possible to dispose of uncontrolled impurities that have a primary influence on structures with a high surface fraction.…”
