Photoluminescence properties of (Eu, Tb, Tm) co-doped PbMoO4 obtained by sonochemical synthesis

Abstract: The PbMoO 4 co-doped with Tm 3þ , Tb 3þ Eu 3þ with scheelita structure was synthesized by the sonochemical method. The photoluminescent properties, structural and color coordinates emitted by phosphors were investigated. The structural analysis of the crystal and the changes in lattice parameters confirm that the rare earth ions (RE 3þ) were successfully introduced into the host of the PbMoO 4. The relationship between energy gap (Egap) and the concentration of RE 3þ ions was also discussed, the Egap is signif… Show more

“…The emission spectra were deconvoluted in order to further elucidate the emission centers and to qualitatively determine the contribution of each visible light component. Figure 8 (b) illustrates the results obtained from the deconvolution of the PL profiles 73,89,103 . The profile is well-described by the Voigt area function, and an analysis of the results revealed that the percentages of the areas in the green, blue, orange, and red region are approximately 55%, 20%, 19%, and 6%, respectively.…”

“…where β is the full width at half-height of the peak (FWHM), k is the form factor, λ is the wavelength of CuKα radiation, and θ is the Bragg angle. The unit cell volumes calculated were around 0.313 nm 3 17,58 According to Equation (1), the crystallite diameter varies inversely with the FWHM values. Therefore, an increase of FWHM (more disordered structure) results in a smaller crystallite diameter.…”

“…Li et al [ 10 ] fabricated a semiconductor/semiconductor-type MoO 3 @TiO 2 crystalline-core amorphous-shell nanorod photochromic material and the unique structure and heterojunction formed between MoO 3 and TiO 2 enhanced the photochromic properties of MoO 3 . Dai et al [ 11 ] synthesized a doped inorganic-type photochromic material by doping Pb 2+ into LiEuMo 2 O 8 , which expanded and distorted the crystal cell of LiEuMo 2 O 8 , resulting in a 50% enhancement in the red light emission from LiEuMo 2 O 8 . Lu et al [ 12 ] synthesized a new type of inorganic/organic hybrid photochromic material, As 4 Mo 8 O 33 /C 3 N 2 H 5 , which showed a remarkable photochromic effect, indicating that proton transfer from the imidazole cation to the polyanion plays a key role in the photochromic process.…”
