“…We assume that they could be similar to the states of some stable lead-related compounds. Up to now, the characteristics of four types of alkali-metal lead bromides: Cs 4 PbBr 6 [20], PbBr 2 [21,22], RbPb 2 Br 5 [22] and CsPbBr 3 [22,23], are studied whose absorption has been ascribed to the transitions between the Pb 2+ ion states. We have compared the luminescence characteristics of Pb 2+ centres in CsBr : Pb with those of Cs 4 PbBr 6 , CsPbBr 3 , PbBr 2 , and RbPb 2 Br 5 single crystals (it is impossible to prepare a CsPb 2 Br 5 single crystal due to the incongruent melting) and found that they are really similar (see Table 2).…”

“…Cs 4 PbBr 6 is a long-time known bromide [9] that, among several alkalibased lead bromides, has been investigated in the form of bulk crystals and thin films for its particular optical properties arising from the 6s 2 Pb 2+ cations electronic outer shell [10,11]. In the course of our experiments, we became interested in doping this material with Pr 3+ cations in order to investigate its spectroscopical properties in the 1-5 mm spectral range.…”

“…Owing to the isolated [BX 6 ] 4− octahedra, the A 4 BX 6 phase is also described as 0D perovskite. Therefore the rhombic prism Cs 4 PbBr 6 was usually considered as a wide-gap semiconductor with a bandgap of about 3.9 eV, [113,119] the green emission from pristine Cs 4 PbBr 6 single crystallites was suspected as an effect of defects or impurities, due to lack of evidence for the existence of CsPbBr 3 phases. [74,112] On the other hand, it was confirmed that endotaxial synthesis of CsPbBr 3 NCs within the Cs 4 PbBr 6 compound was feasible since the lattice structure of CsPbBr 3 matches well with the lattice of Cs 4 PbBr 6 when rotates at a certain angle.…”
