Photoisomerization of phytochrome chromophore models: An XMS-CASPT2 study

Abstract: Phytochromes are a superfamily of photoreceptors that harbor linear tetrapyrroles as chromophores. Upon light illumination, the linear tetrapyrrole chromophore undergoes a double bond isomerization which starts a photocycle.
