Photoinduced Addition Reactions in Aqueous Media

Abstract: The scope of this account on addition reactions in aqueous media is to demonstrate that the syntheses of useful targets or functionalizations can be accomplished through photoaddition reactions in benign environments. Ammination reactions of olefins and constrained cycloalkanes, addition products derived from quinonemethides, aromatic arylation reactions of furanones and alkenes, and radical addition reactions to , -unsaturated aldehydes performed in aqueous media constitute valuable reactions and hence intere… Show more

“…n-Alkanes provided amixture of fluorinated products at non-terminal positions ( Table 2, Entries 4a nd 5). Afluorinated motif that occupies aprivileged place in the fields of medicinal and agricultural chemistry is the trifluoromethylaryl [28] functional group.T op roduce this functionality,t oluene was subjected to the aforementioned reaction conditions to furnish benzyl fluoride in trace amounts, corresponding to aminimal consumption of starting material and NFSI;4 -cyanotoluene behaved similarly ( Table 2, Entries 6a nd 7).…”
