von m unter diesen beiden vollig unterschiedlichen Bedingungen ist bemerkenswert (Abb. 3).Eine sehr uberzeugende Demonstration der Ahnlichkeit zwischen der Zweistufen-Zundung bei niedrigen Drucken und der unter Motorbedingungen ergibt sich aus der Analyse der chemischen Produkte des jeweiligen Kaltflammen-Stadiums [181.Die kalten Flammen von 2-Methylpentan wurden bei zwei sehr unterschiedlichen Bedingungen erzeugt: Die Niederdruck-Experimente wurden in einem konventionellen Pyrex-Reaktor, die Hochdruckversuche in einer Schnellkompressionsmaschine durchgefuhrt. Das Reaktantenverhaltnis variierte bis zum 15-fachen UberschuD einer Komponente.Im effektiven Radius (ausgedriickt in mittleren freien Weg-Iangen) unterschieden sich die beiden Reaktoren um einen Faktor von 100, der Druckunterschied war von der GroDenordnung 5.102, und die gemessene lnduktionsperiode differierte um einen Faktor 104. Ungeachtet dieser groDen Unterschiede sind sich die chemischen Produkte des ersten Stadiums der Zweistufen-Zundung in beiden Bereichen so ahnlich, daD es kaum Zweifel uber das Vorliegen eines gemeinsamen Phanomens gibt (von 42 organischen Verbindungen sind nicht weniger als 39 beiden Verbrennungsbereichen gemeinsam). Die Kaltflammen-Produkte der Oxidation von 2-Methylpentan bei hohen Drucken enthalten betrachtliche Mengen Dimethyltetrahydrofurane, deren Gegenwart auf eine Alkylperoxyl-Radikalisomerisierung schIieBen IaDt. Die sehr kleine Oberfllche (Reaktionsradius ca. 106 mittlere freie Weglangen) und die kurze Reaktionszeit (ca. 10-3 sec) zeigen, daB der IsomerisierungsprozeD nicht eine unbedeutende Wandreaktion ist (wie vorgeschlagen worden war [11.831), sondern eine zur Fortpflanzung der Reaktionskette fahige homogene Reaktion.
