Magnetic multi-enzyme nanosystems have been prepared via co-precipitation of enzymes and metalorganic framework HKUST-1 precursors in the presence of magnetic Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles. The spatial co-localization of two enzymes was achieved using a layer-by-layer positional assembly strategy.Glucose oxidase (GOx) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) were used as the model enzymes for cascade biocatalysis. By controlling the spatial positions of enzymes, three bienzyme nanosystems GOx@HRP@HKUST-1@Fe 3 O 4 , GOx-HRP@HKUST-1@Fe 3 O 4 and HRP@GOx@HKUST-1@Fe 3 O 4 were prepared in which GOx and HRP containing layers were in close proximity, either encapsulated in the HKUST-1 inner layer, or immobilized on the HKUST-1 outer shell, or randomly distributed in the two MOF layers. Their properties were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermal gravimetric analysis, and zeta potential measurements. A highly efficient rotating packed bed photocatalytic reactor based on Fe3O4@PbS@Ni2P composite for the degradation of fenpyroximate (FP) as an acaricide in agriculture is described. The visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst was characterized using various techniques. The interaction of operational parameters consisting of rotational speed (400–1200 rpm), photocatalyst dosage (0.20–0.40 g l−1), solution flow rate (0.10–0.50 l min−1), aeration rate (15–35 l min−1), FP initial concentration (5–45 mg l−1), pH (2–10) and irradiation time (20–100 min) for FP degradation was examined via central composite design under response surface methodology. Accordingly, under the suggested optimum conditions, namely rotational speed of 950 rpm, Fe3O4@PbS@Ni2P dosage of 0.30 g l−1, solution flow rate of 0.30 l min−1, aeration rate of 25 l min−1, pH of 6.0 and irradiation time of 85 min, more than 99% of 45 mg l−1 FP was degraded. The Langmuir–Hinshelwood kinetic model was the best equation for the description of the experimental data. According to the rate constant, the contribution of photocatalytic degradation, adsorption and photolysis to the reduction of FP concentration and, subsequently, the efficiency of water treatment were studied.

In this work, MOF‐5 composited with Ag2O nanoparticles was prepared and characterized via X‐ray diffraction, field emission‐scanning electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive spectroscopy and FT‐IR analysis. This new material was subsequently employed for removing basic yellow dye [Auramine O (AO)] from aqueous solution under ultrasound irradiation. Several experiments were designed by central composite design in which operational parameters such as such as pH, MOF‐5‐Ag2O mass and initial concentration of AO involved in the process were optimized. The significance of individual parameters and their possible interactions were investigated using analysis of variance (anova). The optimum values of 6, 0.025 g and 6 mg l−1 were obtained for the pH, MOF‐5‐Ag2O‐NPs mass and the initial concentrations of AO, respectively, with desirability of 1.0. At such conditions, the efficiency for the removal of AO was found to be 89.45%. Various isotherm models for fitting the experimental equilibrium data were studied, and it was found that the Langmuir model has the highest efficiency for correlation of experimental equilibrium data, so that the monolayer adsorption capacity of MOF‐5‐Ag2O for successful removal of AO was 260.70 mg g−1 at optimal conditions.
