Photo-polymerization of methacrylate based polymer electrolyte for dye-sensitized solar cell

Abstract: The ionic conductivity of poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethyl methacrylate) [P(GMA-co-EMA)]-lithium perchlorate (LiClO 4 )-ethylene carbonate (EC) electrolyte and photovoltaic performances of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) utilizing the electrolyte were investigated. P(GMA-co-EMA) as a host material of the electrolyte was synthesized by UV-curing and characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). P(GMA-co-EMA) based solid polymer electrolyte containing 80 wt% EC exhibited the highest room temperature io… Show more

“…4. According to literature poly(GMA) displays three wide humps in the region between 10-25, 25-35 and 35-50° 2θ, which indicates the amorphous structure of polymer [25]. Similarly, the obtained nanocomposites based on GMA-co-EGDMA (Fig.…”

“…The XRD pattern of pure poly(glycidylmethacrylate) has one broad peak at 2 θ = 17.5° which appeared in XRD of both samples and confirmed the amorphous nature of the PGMA. [ 44 ] The XRD pattern proves the presence of copper oxide NPs in the prepared composite. The appearing peaks at 2 θ = 35°, 38°, 48°, 62°, and 68° in accordance with JCPDS No.…”

“…A copolymer is a combination of two or more different kinds of monomers formed through polymerization or cross-linking method. Recently, Imperiyka and his research group synthesized a copolymer of poly(glycidyl methacrylate- co -ethyl methacrylate) [P(GMA- co -EMA)] via photopolymerization of 80 wt % GMA and 20 wt % EMA. During the process, 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (DMPP) was used as the photoinitiator with the presence of UV radiation under a continuous flow of nitrogen gas for 5 min.…”
