“…Fig. 4), while the surface of the CTE NML remains smooth (except of special conditions, when the crystallization of Se may occur [13]). The average volume expansion due to the irradiation-induced interdiffusion is smaller (% 4%) in the investigated PLD samples in comparison with CTE ones (% 10%).…”

“…So the interdiffusion of the given metals and As 2 S 3 differs from the known interdiffusion of Se, chalcogenides with As 2 S 3 [5][6][7] and provides possibility to create pure amplitude-phase relief without local thickness change, which can be a source of additional noises in volume hologram recording [11].…”

“…The absence of light-stimulated expansion in Sb/As 2 S 3 samples which is usually very pronounced and large in chalcogenide-chalcogenide NMLs [6,7] may be attributed to the specific character of new chemical bond formation due to the interdiffusion of Sb and As 2 S 3 . Preliminary XPS data reveal appearance of pure As which contributes to the formation of Sb-S bonds instead of As-S, resulting the formation of Sb 2 S 3 molecules and clusters and possible enrichment of the layer by As or arsenic oxide molecules (at the surface) without noticeable change of the volume.…”
