Abstract:V 2 O 5 -TiO 2 porous layers were synthesized via micro-arc oxidation for the first time. The effect of the applied voltage on morphology, composition, and photoactivity of the layers was investigated. The layers, which consisted of anatase, rutile, and vanadium pentoxide phases, revealed an enhanced photo-activity. About 93% of methylene blue solution was degraded on the synthesized layers after 120 min UV-irradiation with a reaction rate constant of k = 0.0228 min -1 . The band gap energies of the vanadia-ti… Show more
“…In our previous works, we synthesized V 2 O 5 -TiO 2 and WO 3 -TiO 2 combined layers suitable for photocatalytic applications employing MAO technique [25][26][27][28][29]. In the present study, Al 2 O 3 -TiO 2 composite layers were grown as a solar selective absorber via a hybrid method including MAO and sol-gel processes for the first time.…”

“…The effective way to increase the spectral sensitivity of the material is doping the semiconductor nanostructures with transition metal oxides in the quantity of 1-10% wt. [8][9][10][11][12][13].…”
Anodic oxidation of VT1-0 titanium and E-125 zirconium alloy in aqueous electrolyte solutions based on H 2 SO 4 and K 4 P 2 O 7 was used to obtain oxide coatings composed of Zr/ZrO 2 , Ti/TiO 2 , and mixed oxide systems Ti/Ti n O m • Zr x O y . It was shown that, depending on the electrolyte рН, the films contained from 0.17 to 2.1% wt. of zirconium. The catalytic activity of the synthesized coatings in the oxidation reaction of the methyl orange azo dye under UV irradiation was established. The process rate constants and synergy factors for the mixed systems were calculated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
