Abstract: Burn injuries can result in a significant inflammatory response, often leading to hypertrophic scarring (HTS). Local drug therapies e.g. corticoid injections are advised to treat HTS, although they are invasive, operator-dependent, extremely painful and do not permit extended drug release.
