Photo-activity and low resistivity in N/Nb Co-doped TiO2 thin films by combinatorial AACVD

Abstract: Combinatorial AACVD has achieved the production of various niobium/nitrogen co-doped TiO2 materials in a single film. The co-doping concentrations have been correlated with functional properties.

“…In such a combinatorial deposition, two or more precursor mists can be combined within the reactor to achieve the desired material. An example of this is the ability to co‐dope TiO 2 thin films with N and Nb . As the nitrogen and niobium precursors are being separately flowed into the reactor, a graded composition of N/Nb is formed within the deposited thin film.…”

“…An example of this is the ability to co-dopeT iO 2 thin films with Na nd Nb. [50] As the nitrogen and niobiump recursors are being separately flowedi nto the reactor,ag radedc omposition of N/Nb is formed within the deposited thin film. These films were shown to displaye xcellent photocatalytic properties whilst also displaying low resistivity and hence producing am ultifunctional material.…”

“…87,90,91,100,156,157 Certain studies do, however, acknowledge the lack of dopant parity such as those by Bartlett et al and Chadwick et al. 86,88,89 It should be noted that the majority of synthesis studies, which have attempted to produce codoped anatase TiO 2 , have utilized growth conditions that are nonequilibrium in nature, and where kinetic effects can play a large role. None of these methods, however, has managed to reach full passivation.…”

“…The typical laboratory AACVD set-up is illustrated in the literature, [29][30][31][32][33][34] and preparation of aqueous solution for acetylacetone and D.I. water co-treated ZnO thin lms was carried out by dissolving 0.4 g of zinc acetate dihydrate, 0.5 mL acetylacetone and 0.5 mL D.I.…”
