Phonon antibunching effect in coupled nonlinear micro/nanomechanical resonator at finite temperature

Abstract: -In this study, we investigate the phonon antibunching effect in a coupled nonlinear micro/nanoelectromechanical system (MEMS/NEMS) resonator at a finite temperature. In the weak driving limit, the optimal condition for phonon antibunching is given by solving the stationary Liouville-Von Neumann master equation. We show that at low temperature, the phonon antibunching effect occurs in the regime of weak nonlinearity and mechanical coupling, which is confirmed by analytical and numerical solutions. We also find… Show more

“…Different from the CPNB, UCPNB is the counter-intuitive phenomenon that strong phonon antibunching can be observed with weak nonlinearity 8,15–18 . Physically, the strong phonon antibunching for UCPNB is based on the destructive interference between different paths for two-phonon excitation 8 , that UCPNB is usually realized by coupling an auxiliary system to the mechanical mode.…”

“…For the potential application in phononic quantum information processing 24 , phonon blockade has draw more and more attentions in recent years 5–18 . The various proposals for realizing phonon blockade so far can be classified into two types namely conventional phonon blockade (CPNB) 1,514 and unconventional phonon blockade (UCPNB) 8,15–18 .…”

“…Similar to the unconventional photon blockade in a weakly nonlinear system of photonic molecule, [ 58–60 ] this interference‐based phonon blockade is called unconventional phonon blockade (UCPNB). Very recently, UCPNB has been studied in a coupled mechanical system with weak nonlinearity, [ 61,62 ] a quadratically coupled optomechanical systems, [ 63,64 ] and an optomechanical system with parametric amplification, [ 65 ] etc.…”
