Phenylsilane

Abstract: and Technology in 2010 and received her B.Sc degree in Chemistry. Presently, she is working as a postgraduate towards her M.Sc under the supervision of Professor Zhan-Hui Zhang and Qiu-Qing Yang at the Hebei Normal University. Her research interest focuses on the application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in the Gemini surfactant.

“…As a direct sequel to our efforts to develop convenient and sustainable methodologies to accomplish organic oxidations, we have focused on exploring the scope of reactivity using phenylsilane to reduce 2-acetylpyridine and other ketones in water and alcohols, where phenylsilane is a mild and environmentally benign reducing agent. [32][33][34] Building on the observed reactivity, these tridentate Cu-NHC complexes were used to form a series of DNA-hybrid catalyst systems toward the asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones to form (R)-1-( pyridin-2-yl)ethan-1-ol or (S)-1-( pyridin-2-yl)ethan-1-ol, which provides a dedicated first step towards developing methods for gentle ketone reduction of target molecules and an environmentally conscience approach to generating chiral alcohols.…”
