Phenotypic detection of extended-spectrum β-lactamase production in Enterobacteriaceae: review and bench guide

Abstract: Strains of Enterobacteriaceae producing an extended spectrum beta-lactamase have become a concern in medical bacteriology as regards both antimicrobial treatment and infection control in hospitals.
