Phased evacuation algorithm for high–rise buildings

Abstract: The article explores a new phased evacuation algorithm for high-rise buildings and structures. The necessity of using this evacuation type is justified by reducing of the human flow density, which minimizes the people injury risks and the crowd formation during the movement process. This type of evacuation prevents the appearance of clusters in local narrowing places (the floor entrance), as well as on stairway. The calculation model is made in Pathfinder PC. The scheme of organizing a phased evacuation is bas… Show more

“…Gravit et al [30] investigated the role of elevators in the total time of evacuation by modeling 20 -30 -40-50and 60-story buildings. They estimated the models with 100 people per floor and also included shuttle lifts for 40, 50, and 60-story buildings.…”

“…The definition of design fires is the starting point of fire safety engineering. Fire scenarios should be determined with caution in close cooperation between the client, designers and authorities [4][5][6]. Variety of fires must be considered depending on the use intended for the building.…”
